Information on how to use and set up the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Instructions
1. Download Mobile App
•Open iTunes App Store or Google Play Store
•Search for: Microsoft Authenticator App
•iPhone users select ‘GET’
•Android users select ‘Install’
•The application will download and install onto your phone
•Don’t do anything with the app until later in these instructions
2. Log-in to Microsoft Office 365
•Browse to
https://portal.office.com
•Login with your username:
username@ccsi.org
•Login with your password: Same password as workplace
3. Approve Sign-In Request
•After entering your username and password you may be prompted to approve your sign-in
•Check your previous phone for a Microsoft Authenticator App notification
•If you no longer have you previous phone select Sign in another way, and you can chose the ‘text’ option
4. Office Portal
•Once logged into the portal you want to go into your account
•Select your initials or picture in the top right hand corner
•Then select the option My Account
5. Select the Manage Security and Privacy Option
6. Select the additional security verification option
7. Select the "Update your phone numbers used for account security" option.
8. Set up Microsoft Authenticator App on the Phone
•Before selecting the ‘Configure’ button you want to setup your Microsoft Authenticator App
•Open the Microsoft Authenticator App
•Select the Add Account or + button
•Select Work or school Account
•After select work or school account the app will want to scan the QR code on the computer
•Jump back to your computer now
9. Configure Mobile App
•On your computer select the Configure button
•After selecting configure a QR code screen will appear
10. Scan QR code with your phone
•Scan the QR code with your Cell Phone
•After Scanning the code click Next on the computer
11. Finish configuration
After selecting next it will bring you back to the Additional security verification page and will verify the activation status
If successful it will say, ‘Mobile app has been configured for notifications and verification codes
Then select Save
12. Verify
•After selecting Save a pop-up will appear to verify preferred option
•Select verify preferred option to complete the process
•Then a notification will be sent to your phone
13. Approve verification on your Phone
•Then your Phone will receive a notification
•Select Approve
14. Process Complete
•After approving the login the process is complete
•Select Close
Outlook Email App Setup
1. See instructions below
2. Open Outlook for iOS/Android
3. Setting Up Outlook App
4. Enter email address (user name is username@ccsi.org)
5.Enter your password (password is your WorkPlace password
6. Verify with 2-step verification
Expect a notification from the Microsoft Authenticator App to approve you to sign in
Note: We set up the authenticator app already
7. Activate Device Policy
•CCSI requires mobile devices to meet security standards to protect email.
•If you want CCSI email on your phone you need to activate the Device Policy
8. Need additional HELP? Ask the App
•Outlook App provides in App assistance if you need help using the application
