Information on how to encrypt a file using 7-Zip.
Instructions
Right click on the file or folder you would like to Encrypt
Select 7-Zip > Add to archive
Enter a password in the Encryption Section
Make your password minimum 20 characters long – Use a phrase or sentence to make it easy
Check encrypt file names
Select ok
File will be zipped and encrypted automatically
Recommend to select delete file after compression, to delete the 'non-encrypted' version of the file(s).
Once encrypted you can attach to an email and send.
If your message body of your email contains sensitive information also make sure you enter ‘sendsecure’ in the subject line to encrypt the entire email message
